     Customer said S5500T performance is not better than local disks when use tool to test small IO.

Handling Process
Debug method:
Step1:check the IO type if it is a big pressure IO. If not, the IO will not save to disk, just hold in cache.
Solution:
If customer wants to test out the maximum bandwidth available, it is recommended to use iometer tool, using a larger IO size, to test a larger area, in order to provide greater concurrent host business pressures.
For example, the order of 32K of IO, you can use 128 concurrent tests. and adjust the file size to 20GB.


Root Cause
Root cause:
    Apparently this tool is not a properly software for testing storages.
When the file is small, it will hold in the cache of RAID card or cache of S5600T. The data will not really save to disk. And at that time, the performance is just caused by the length of the IO path.
The local disk’s path is shorter than S5500T, so the performance will be better than S5500T

Storage’s performance advantage is in processing large amounts of data, large business pressure. Not just any business, in any environment, storage performance is certainly better than the local device
Suggestions
