Publication Date:  2013-12-30 Views:  151 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
Product: X6000 XH311 V2 server

After installing windows 2012 in the XH311 V2 server, an error appeared in the device manager shows that the driver of an Standard SATA AHCI Controller wasn't installed.

Alarm Information
None.
Handling Process
1:      We use the PCIE RAID card SR120 (LSI2308) to manage the disk I/O, don’t use the SATA AHCI Controller of the motherboard.
So we can just disable it in BIOS, and it will not affect the OS running.
2:      Apply the RM to R&D to test the compatibility of XH311 V2 and windows 2012.
Root Cause
The SATA AHCI Controller is controlled by the South Bridge chip of the motherboard.
It can manage and optimize the IO performance when using the local disks or attached disk array.
The driver of the SATA AHCI Controller is not included in the service_CD.
So after installing the OS,the system can't find the driver.
Also, windows 2012 is not included in the XH311 V2 compatibility list.
