Publication Date:  2014-01-24 Views:  153 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
In E6000 blade server, FC HBA interconnect to switch module failed. Login NX220 swich module, and run command switchshow, found all ports connect to blade server were under state of No_Async disabled.
Alarm Information
None
Handling Process
Pull out NX220 of slot C, and inserted it into slot B.
Login NX220, run command switchshow and found all ports connect to blade server turned enable automatically.
Root Cause
1. Login NX220 by management IP, run command switchshow to check the state of FC switch, found switch was online and other ports were normal except those ports connect to blade server. So switch wouldn't has hardware issue.

2. Login Blade BMC to check whether Mezz card installed in blade. Under navigation System Information--> Firmware Version, we found Mezz card installed on card1, and the type of Mezz is MU220. Mu220 match NX220, so the Mezz card type was correct. Card1 connect to plane B, so NX220 switch module should be inserted in slot B1 or B2. But actually, in this scene, NX220 was installed in slot C, it didn't match Mezz card in card1.

Suggestions
There are strict matchup relation, card1 Mezz card supports plane switch module, card2 Mezz card supports plane C.
