Data Store Created on the Proware by Unifosa Storage Device Is Unavailable

Publication Date:  2014-05-15 Views:  63 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
After a data store was created on the Proware by Unifosa SB-3164E-G1A3 storage device, an alarm was generated, indicating that the data store associated with the host was abnormal. On the FusionCompute portal, the association status for the host and data store was abnormal, and the data store was unavailable.
Alarm Information
none.
Handling Process
Delete the 4096-byte LUN and create 512-byte LUNs.
Root Cause
  •  After logging in to the host and checking the attaching status of the data store, we found that the data store was successfully attached to the host.

  •  After logging in to the storage device, we found that a LUN with a size of 4096 bytes fails to be read, while read and write on the LUN with a size of 512 were normal.
  •  Therefore, it is concluded that the storage device does not support LUNs larger than 512 bytes.
Suggestions
FusionCompute V100R003C00 does not support LUNs larger than 512 bytes. If third-party storage devices are used, ensure that LUNs created on the storage devices are not larger than 512 bytes.
