Summary of Voice Message Indicator issue for SmartCall 1000&78 Serie Phones

Issue Description
In an UC project in T country, the applied devices are as below:

IP Phone: eSpace 7830
UMS: SmartCall 1000
PBX: eSpace U1930


After completion of all configurations, message leaving and retrieving are working fine, but message indicator is not flashing while new message comes.

Handling Process
Verify step by step with above steps, finding that the called number of point 2 and subscription of point 4 are not configured correctly. Problem was solved after correction.
Root Cause
To active message indicator correctly with SmartCall UMS, the below settings are necessary to verify:
1) Enable message notification and subscription for UMS account
     
2) Set called number for UMS account while new message comes 
    
3) Interval time for scanning of new message shouldn’t be too long, otherwise it might cause delay for indication
    
4) Enable message subscription under “Account->Advanced”
    
5) Configure correctly integration between PBX and UMS, enable the service right of voice message and active it for the specific account
    
If all above are done correctly, the voice message indicator should be working fine.
Suggestions
Voice message indicator working procedure is:
1) Phone sends subscription message to UMS periodically;
2) UMS records and marks in database of user subscription;
3) UMS keeps scanning new voice message;
4) UMS sends indication message to Phone after receiving new voice message;

If all above points are configured correctly, the voice message indicator should be working fine.
