Publication Date:  2014-08-29 Views:  48 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
You can configure the Wi-Fi hotspot on the web interface (under System Settings > Network > Wi-Fi Settings) or remote control UI (under Advanced > Settings > Network > Wi-Fi)
Alarm Information
None
Handling Process

On the page, set the following parameters:

 Wi-Fi Hotspot: specifies whether the Wi-Fi hotspot is enabled.

 SSID Number: specifies the Wi-Fi hotspot identifier.

 Channel: specifies the channel.

 Protocol: specifies the protocol used on the Wi-Fi network.

 Identity authentication mode: specifies the identity authentication mode used on the Wi-Fi network.

1. OPEN: The Wi-Fi network is open to everyone.

2. SHARE, WPA-PSK, or WPA2-PSK: Wi-Fi client users must enter the specified passwords to access the Wi-Fi network. You must select WPA-PSK or WPA2-PSK when the VPM220W is connected to the TE30.

 Encryption mode: specifies the encryption method used on the Wi-Fi network.

1. NONE: No encryption is performed.

2. WEP, AES, or TKIP: Encryption is performed.

 IP address: specifies the TE30 IP address.

 Subnet mask: specifies the TE30 subnet mask.

 Enable DHCP server: specifies whether the TE30 assigns dynamic IP addresses to devices connected to it. The assigned IP
address range is specified by the settings of Start IP address and End IP address.

 Start IP address: specifies the start IP address for the devices connected to the TE30. This parameter is available only when Enable DHCP server is selected.

 End IP address: specifies the end IP address for the devices connected to the TE30. This parameter is available only when Enable DHCP server is selected.

When Wi-Fi Hotspot is enabled, information about devices connected to the hotspot is displayed in real time under Connected devices.
Information about a Wi-Fi client includes the serial number, device name, MAC address, and IP address.

Currently, the TE30 displays the device names of all Wi-Fi clients connected to it as Unknown except for VPM220Ws. When a VPM220 is connected to the TE30 as a Wi-Fi hotspot, the displayed device name is M220W.

You can configure the Wi-Fi client on the web interface (under System Settings > Network > Wi-Fi Settings) or remote control UI (under Advanced > Settings > Network > Wi-Fi)

On the page, set the following parameters:

 Wi-Fi Client: specifies whether the Wi-Fi client is enabled.

 Connection type: specifies the mode for the TE30 to obtain an IP address.

1. Static IP: The network administrator allocates an IP address to the TE30.

2. Dynamic IP: When a DHCP server is available on the network, the TE30 automatically obtains an IP address using DHCP.

When Connection type is set to Static IP, you must also set the following parameters:

 IP address

 Subnet mask

 Gateway address

When Wi-Fi Client is enabled, information about available hotspots is displayed under Select WLAN. Select one of the hotspots and connect the TE30 to it.

Information about a Wi-Fi hotspot includes the SSID number, protocol, channel, security type, MAC address, signal strength, and connection status.
