S5500T ,How to delete a LUN mapping from an application server?

Issue Description
Products : S5500T V1 , RH2288 V2 
Server OS : windows server 2008 R2 64 bit.
Symptom : customer need to unmap LUN mapped to Windows Sever 2008 host.

Solution

Steps to unmap the LUN :

1- Deleting LUN Mapping from a Windows-based Application Server :

  1. Log in to the Windows-based application server as administrator.
  2. Right-click My Computer and choose Manage from the shortcut menu.

    The Computer Management dialog box is displayed.

  3. In the navigation tree of the Computer Management dialog box, choose Storage > Disk Management.
  4. Right-click the new volume area behind Disk1. (Disk1 is used for reference only, as highlighted in red in Figure 1.) Choose Change Drive Letter and Path from the shortcut menu
  5. In the Change Drive Letter and Paths for E: (New Volume) dialog box, select the drive number that you want to delete, and click Delete (as shown in the red area inFigure 2). The Confirm dialog box is displayed.
  6. Carefully read the content of the Confirm dialog box, and click Yes to allow the deletion of the drive number.

2- Deleting a LUN Mapping from a Storage System:

  1. login to ISM ,In the navigation tree, choose Storage Resources > LUNs.
  2. In the function pane, select the LUN whose mapping you want to delete, and choose Mappings > Remove LUN Mapping.

    The Remove LUN Mapping dialog box is displayed.

  3. Select the host group or host of the LUN mapping, and click OK.

    The Warning dialog box is displayed.

  4. Carefully read the content in the dialog box, and select I have read the warning message carefully.
  5. Click OK.

    The Result dialog box is displayed indicating that the operation succeeded.

  6. Click Close.
