The E6000 Management Module Frequently Restarts

Issue Description
Log in to the management module over Telnet and run any command. The system displays RPC function performs fail, as shown in Figure 1, and the management module restarts every 1 minute to 2 minutes.

Handling Process
1.  The management module restarts every 1 minute to 2 minutes. After connection to the client over the serial port, the system displays the error message indicating that the smmipmi.out process loading is abnormal during the restart, as shown in Figure 2.

2.  As the core process of the management module, the smmipmi.out process manages the power supply units (PSUs), fan modules, and server blades. The problem cause lies in the management module software. You need to upgrade the management module software over a serial port.
Root Cause
An exception occurs in the smmipmi.out process. As a result, the management module frequently restarts, and an error message is displayed when a command is executed.

Solution
Refresh the management module software over a serial port to solve this problem.

Suggestions
If the management module frequently restarts, check logs that are generated during the restart. Locate faults according to error information in the logs. The problem cause may be a network storm, which can be solved by capturing packets.
