ACT eLOG Server Data Migration

Publication Date:  2015-07-17 Views:  85 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
When the data from the present system was copied to the freshly commisioned elog distributed system, we were not able to read/ retrieve the logs.

Customer had high focus on to read the logs from old server with Version v2r5spc205 on the new server with version v2r5spc300.
Solution

When we checked the MYSQL Connection Ids on the Existing server showed as,

mysql> SELECT deviceid, ipaddress, isdeleted FROM tbl_device;

+----------+-------------+-----------+

| deviceid | ipaddress   | isdeleted |

+----------+-------------+-----------+

|        1 |    16843009 |         1 |

|        2 |    16843009 |         1 |

|        3 |   16843009 |         0 |

So if you notice the 3rd Device ID was active, in the new system 1st device ID was active. Hence we were not able to retriev the Logs.

once the on the New server we chnged the Device ID by removing and adding the Collector 3 times, the device Id changed to 3. After this we enabled the read/ write permission to the directory whre the dumped data was placed. Then we were able to retrive the Logs.
