Handling Process
Symptom 1:

1.  Ensure that the IP addresses of the management terminal and IPMI management port are on the same network segment.

In the ISM navigation tree, choose Device Management > Settings > Device Configuration. In IPMI Management, check whether the IP address of the IPMI management network port is on the same network segment as that of the management terminal.
  • If yes, contact technical support engineers.
  • If no, go to 2.
2.  Set the IP address of the IPMI management network port to be on the same network segment as that of the management terminal. For details, see Setting the IPMI Network Port.

3.  Restart the KVM.
  • If the KVM starts properly, the fault is rectified.
  • If the KVM fails to be started, contact technical support engineers.
Symptom 2: Clear the Internet Explorer cache on the management terminal.

Alternatively, perform the following steps to set the Internet Explorer browser to solve the problem.

1.  On the Internet Explorer browser, choose Tools > Internet Options > General. In the Temporary Internet files group box, click Settings.

The Temporary Internet Files and History Settings dialog box is displayed.

2.  In Check for newer version of stored pages, select Every visit to the page.

3.  Click OK.

Restart the KVM.
  • If the KVM starts properly, the fault is rectified.
  • If the KVM fails to be started, contact technical support engineers.
Root Cause
Symptom 1:The IP address of the management terminal cannot communicate with that of the IPMI management network port.

Symptom 2: The cache of the Internet Explorer browser on the management terminal stores the original IP address of the IPMI management network port. As a result, the changed IP address cannot be used to start the KVM.
