Publication Date:  2015-07-31 Views:  58 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
Product and version: VTL6000 V100R003

When adding the target VTL server after the initial configuration of a VTL server is complete, an error message is displayed stating failover-A is already connected using IP xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx indicates the IP address of the target VTL server.
Handling Process

1.  Check whether the source and target VTL servers have the same name.

  • If yes, go to 2.
  • If no, keep the application environment unchanged and contact Huawei technical support.

2.  Rename the source or target VTL server.

a. Right-click the source or target VTL server and choose System Maintenance > Set Hostname from the shortcut menu.
The Set Hostname dialog box is displayed.

b. Enter a new host name.

c. Click OK.
A dialog box is displayed asking you to restart the VTL server.

d. Click Yes.

3. On the VTL Console, log in to the VTL server and check whether the name is successfully changed.

  • If yes, the fault is rectified.
  • If no, keep the application environment unchanged and contact Huawei technical support.
Root Cause
Possible Causes:

The possible cause of this failure is that the source VTL server and the target VTL server have the same.
