Power supply alarm E6000

Issue Description

The customer reported an alarm regarding power supply number 2 in the HMM V1.0 of the device E6000 when he was cheking the performance of the device.


Alarm Information



Handling Process

1. unplug and plug again the power supply, after this verify if the alarm was cleared.

1. If the alarma is cleared the problem was solved.

2. if not, go the the step 2.

2.     Replace the power supply, verify if the alarms was cleared.

1. If the alarma is cleared the problem was solved.

2. if not, contact to TAC engineers.

Root Cause
This alarms is generated when the power supply is affected due the energy provided is higher than supported.
Solution

the first step is get the logs.

Analizing the logs, the power supply number 5 was fault as you can see in the below log information:

 PS2 Status: PS2 status,Fan1/fan2 fault detected Assertion Minor

after analize the logs we realized that the power supply is fault and needs to be replaced.

 

Suggestions
Check the electrical connections to be sure that this problem is not going to happen going further.
