Publication Date:  2016-06-23 Views:  250 Downloads:  0
Issue Description

Assume that you have the following topology. On AC you can see AP1 but AP2 is not visible. Ping from AC to AP2 is working without any problem. AR is acting as DHCP server for AP2 and provides the IP address of AC through DHCP option 43.

Solution

On configuration for DHCP option 43 use hex string in order to provide the IP address of AC to AP2. Below you have the configuration changed.

#

interface Vlanif200

ip address 2.2.2.2 255.255.255.248

dhcp select interface

dhcp server ip-range 2.2.2.2 2.2.2.8

dhcp server option 43 hex  03 0b 31 30 2e 35 30 2e 35 30 2e 35 30// since AC IP address is 10.50.50.50 you need to input the following hex string: 03 0b 31 30 2e 35 30 2e 35 30 2e 35 30

#

return

31 30 2e 35 30 2e 35 30 2e 35 30 - represents the IP address of AC in Hex

The value 03 is a fixed value. The value 0b indicates that the IP address length is 11, and includes dots (.).
