The new APs’ versions are not match with AC. The customer pre configure the upgrading commands on the AC. When the new APs access to the WLAN network, it will upgrade the version automatically. But the new AP’ status is “succeed (auto resetting)” all the time on the AC.

The software version of AC6605 is V200R006C10SP200 and the AP version is V200R006C10SPC600.

Handling Process

(1)    We arranged a remote session and logged in the AC. We checked the new AP status and is actually rebooting all the time.

(1) the new AP’ status on the AC:

<AC6605> display ap update status all

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Name   Type                  AP MAC          Update Status

......

hw0    APxxxx              xxxx-xxxx-xxxx  succeed (auto resetting)

(2)    We checked the configuration and found the configuration on the AC was right.

(1) the wrong acl:

#

wlan

......

 ap-id 21 type-id 35 ap-mac xxxx-xxxx-xxxx ap-sn xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

 ap-id 22 type-id 35 ap-mac xxxx-xxxx-xxxx ap-sn xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

......

 ap update update-filename FitAP5X30XN_V200R006C10SPC600.bin ap-type 35 ap-group default

#

(3)    We checked the trap in the AC and found the bellowed trap. It prompt us that this AP not support configured country code notify.

(1) suggest the customer to modify the configuration of the traffic policy:

WLAN/4/AP NOT SUPPORT CONFIGURED COUNTRY CODE:OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.6.139.13.1.1.29 AP not support configured country code notify.(APMAC=[xx.xx.xx.xx.xx.xx (hex)], APName=[xxxx-xxxx-xxxx], COUNTRY CODE=[CN], APID=[22])

(4)    We checked the configuration again. We found the customer used the default country code on the AC, and the default country code is CN. And these new APs are manufactured for the United States, and U.S. law states that the United States AP can only support the United States National Code.

(5)    So we can’t use the default configuration on the AC, we need to change the country code to US. After changing the country code to US, these new APs status changed normal.

Root Cause

The customer configured a wrong country code on the AC.

Solution

Change the country code to US on the AC.

Suggestions

When we configure WLAN configuration, we must configure the country code.
