Issue Description

Product: S2200T V1R5C30SPC700

Issue Description:

The customer feedback he needs to create the Synchronous Remote Replication from old Storage to new Storage.
The Storages are the same hardware and the same version.

LUNs in old Storage are extend LUN and in new Storage are normal LUN.
The replication link is up, but w
hen he create the Synchronous Remote Replication between old SAN and new SAN, it
cannot find the slave LUN from the old SAN.

Alarm Information
None.
Handling Process

1: Ask the customer to collect logs from new site and old site SAN devices;

2: Confirm with the customer the exact LUN name he needs to use in the Synchronous Remote Replication configuration;

3:When creating the Synchronous Remote Replication, there is some limitation:

1): The slave LUN and the master LUN must have the same capacity.

2: The LUN which you want to choose as slave LUN can’t map to host or host group.

But from the logs, we can see :

First, the master LUN size is smaller than the slave LUN :

New site:

Old site:

Second, the LUN9T_001 and LUN9T_002 already mapped to host group.

In this situation,the configuration can’t be done.

Root Cause

1: The slave LUN size is different with the master LUN;

2:The slave LUN already mapped to a host.

Solution
Confirmed with the customer ,the old LUNs in DR site already has no use,so suggest him to delete some old LUNs and create new LUN which has the same capacity as the master LUN, then create the Synchronous Remote Replication successfully.
Suggestions
When using the value-added features like Synchronous Remote Replication, need to follow the feature guide to do the configuration.
