Publication Date:  2017-02-28 Views:  74 Downloads:  0
Issue Description

Device :S2600T    Version : V200R002C30

Alarm received :  0xF0060003    Major

Alarm Information

Alarm received :  0xF0060003    Major

Description of alarm :

The SAS expansion port (Disk Enclosure DAE000, ExpBoard expansion module A, port number PRI) is faulty

Handling Process

2017-01-11 19:59:39    0xF0060006    Major    None    The SAS expansion port (Controller Enclosure ENG0, -- controller A, port number EXP0) is partially damaged but still available.
2017-01-11 19:59:39    0xF0060006    Major    None    The SAS expansion port (Controller Enclosure ENG0, -- controller A, port number EXP0) is partially damaged but still available.

According to above logs we determinate  that the SAS cable that connects Controller Enclosure ENG0, controller A, port number EXP0 and Disk Enclosure DAE000, ExpBoard expansion module A,
port number PRI is faulty and not the expansion module

Root Cause

The SAS cable was loose in the port expansion

Solution

when the SAS cable will be replace please tie the SAS cable on cabinet, but do not tie too tight, I am asking you to tied the SAS cable because in most cases, SAS cable and interface may lose tight from the device

After the SAS cable was replaced please execute the below steps, because after the SAS cable was replaced the ararm was not cleared,  the reason that the alarm was not cleared after the SAS cable was replaced is because some of the PHYs in SAS port were disabled because of error code. After replace the cable, the PHY can’t be enabled by himself, so please execute the command below to enable PHYs in SAS

You need to login command line
and enable the PHY as follow:

login as: admin

Using keyboard-interactive
authentication.

command operates successfully.
developer: admin:/>

As above example, you need to login command line and enter developer mode (developer password: debug@storage).  if you find any PHY is off, you can execute command chgportswitch to enable the port PHY. Or, you can disable the whole port and enable again.
The command format is: chgportswitch -c  [controller ID(a/b)] -e [enclosure ID] -mt [module type] -module [module ID] -p [port ID] -sw  [on/off]
