FAQ- How to perform password recovery on an AntiDDoS

Issue Description

The console password of an AntiDDoS device can be recovered from  the BootROM menu by deleting the startup configuration and rebooting the device. After the reboot the equipment will start with the default configuration and inherit the default console credentials : username : admin / password : Admin@123

Solution

Procedure:

1st Step: Boot the device and press Ctrl + B to enter the BootROM menu (default password WWW@HUAWEI)

     5. Modify boot ROM password

     6. Chkdsk CFcard

     7. Format CFcard

     8. List file in CFcard

     9. Delete file from CFcard

    10. List file in USB Device

    11. Set patch mode

    12. Set version back signal

    13. Reboot


2nd Step: Check which is the current startup configuration file from the Set bootfile and pathàModify the config file

 

 

          Main Menu(bootload ver: 45.01)

 

     1. Boot with default mode

     2. Boot from CFcard

     3. Enter ethernet submenu

     4. Set boot file and path

     5. Modify boot ROM password

     6. Chkdsk CFcard

     7. Format CFcard

     8. List file in CFcard

     9. Delete file from CFcard

    10. List file in USB Device

    11. Set patch mode

    12. Set version back signal

    13. Reboot

 

    Press Ctrl+B to return Main Menu in any sub menu.

 

Enter your choice(1-13): 4

 

          Boot Files Submenu

 

     1. Modify the boot file

     2. Modify the paf file

     3. Modify the license file

     4. Modify the config file

     5. Modify the patch file

     6. Modify the patch states file

     7. Return to main menu

 

Enter your choice(1-7): 4

 

 Config file is cfcard:/vrpcfg.zip, modify the file name if needed.

 Please input correctly, e.g.: cfcard:/vrpcfg.zip

 

3rd Step: Delete the current configuration file from the CFcard

 

     1. Boot with default mode

     2. Boot from CFcard

     3. Enter ethernet submenu

     4. Set boot file and path

     5. Modify boot ROM password

     6. Chkdsk CFcard

     7. Format CFcard

     8. List file in CFcard

     9. Delete file from CFcard

    10. List file in USB Device

    11. Set patch mode

    12. Set version back signal

    13. Reboot

 

    Press Ctrl+B to return Main Menu in any sub menu.

 

Enter your choice(1-13): 9

 

          Delete CFcard Content List Submenu

 

     1. Delete file(s) in CFcard

     2. Delete file(s) in CFcard2

     3. Return to Up menu

 

Enter your choice(1-3): 1

 

BE CAREFUL!

If you delete a directory, all of its contents will be deleted!

 

 

Please input the file name you want to delete, e.g.: test.txt

4th Step: Reboot the device
