How to remotely count the total number of local PPP subscribers connected to an NE40?

Publication Date:  2017-05-25 Views:  299 Downloads:  0
Issue Description

The customer asked for a method to remotely count the total number of local PPP subscribers connected to an NE40.

Is looking for something like an SNMP poll or similar either direct to the NE40.

He will use this with RADIUS Steering, so that new off-net L2TP sessions are sent to the NE40 with the lowest number of subscribers.  To do this he need to periodically poll the NE40 for the latest subscriber count.

Solution

There are two methods to remotely count the total number of local PPP subscribers connected to an NE40:

1.   1. Using the command: display access-user

Using a mib: 1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.5.2.1.14.1.3.
