Error message “you don’t have permissions” with U1960

Publication Date:  2017-06-19 Views:  55 Downloads:  0
Issue Description

We have the following network topology:

- U1960  with the firmware version installed V200R003C020SPC900) and an IP-Phone

- Call forward to internal numbers are working fine but call forward on PSTN doesen't work.

When we call A to B then forward to C, we get the message “your call is being forwarded” and after that we get a message “you don’t have permissions”.

Handling Process

The following steps need to be followed whenever such an issue appears:

1. Check the firmware verson of the U1960

2. Check if the SIP user 124 is configured corectly and has the call forward service enabled on U1960:

[%eSpace U1960(config)]#show subscriber dn 124 type all

3. Get the debug logs from the LMT when the issue is present.

From the logs analysis, the call is ok but we can see that the call is restricted by trunk group:

4. Use the following command: show trunkgroup to find the trunk group number that is connected to PSTN. From the logs we can see that the Group No is xx:

5. Use the command: config modify trunkgroup no xx restrict yes outgoingright inter&local&ddd (please modify the xx to the exact trunk group that we got in the previous step ).

6. Replicate the issue.

Root Cause

The trunk group 31 has only INTER/LOCAL rights so we need to add DDD (national) rights.

Solution

1. Check if the correct settings are in place for the SIP user and the feature activated on U1960.

2. Make sure that the trunk to PSTN has the rights to call outside.
