VCN3010 - CCTV Error

Publication Date:  2017-08-23 Views:  626 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
We have a VCN3010 as a VMU and a IVS installed on a workstation, sometimes we are receiving a Warning message: "If you continue performing operations when the system is overloaded, the service response speed will be lowered. The customer is inquiry why he is receiving this information.
Alarm Information

Please see the alarm information below:

Handling Process

Following steps were asked from the customer:

1. Firmware version

2. If he performed any kind of operations on the workstation that the IVS client was installed

3. If there were any alarms in the IVS

The customer confirmed the firmware version and that no operations or alarms were performed during the warning informations poped up.

Since the VMU only provides the following:

  • Connects to upper-level and lower-level domains or external domains to construct a multi-level and multi-domain network.
  • Manages MPUs and performs service configuration and control in the local domain.
  • Forwards media streams from external domains.

And no other service processing involved, we came to the following conclusion and understanding:

The IVS client is receiving data from the server, in order to benefit from all the options the client provides, it will have running on the workstation that it is installed different system processes.

If the resources of the workstation where the IVS client is installed are not enough, when system requirements are not enough it will pop-up that warning notification.
Root Cause

Issue with the workstation where the IVS client was installed. Not enough resources.

Solution

Enhance workstation resources so it can sustain system operations, install IVS client on a more powerful workstation.
