How to upload a configuration file (in zip format) and the wallpaper file (in jpg format) via eSight onto an eSpace 7950 IP phone

Issue Description

We are trying to deploy wallpapers for eSpace 7950 phones via eSight.

Uploaded the configuration file (in zip format) and the wallpaper file (in jpg format).


The configuration file goes without any problems. Bellow, the content of the configuration file:

The wallpaper is not deployed to the phone and doesn’t even appear in the wallpapers inside the preferences menu in the phone.


Alarm Information

There is no error displayed after the configuration is uploaded via eSight.

Handling Process

I managed to send the wallpaper to the phone (creating a version file with the wallpaper only) and the wallpaper is now sent to the phone, however, it doesn’t get active. I have to go to each phone and manually set the image that I’ve sent.

Solution

Gladly there is a solution to this issue and is not very difficult to implement.


Please follow these steps:

 

1. Deploy the wallpaper manually on one IP phone.

2. Export the configuration file from this IP phone, as per below:


3. Open the xml config file and check for this line:

 

Where your_wallpaper_name.jpg is the name of your wallpaper.

 

You need to add the parameter MFlag=”1” like below:

 

<WallPaper MFlag="1" CurrentWallPaper="your_wallpaper_name.jpg"/>

 

Save the config file.

 

4.  Upload this modified config file to eSight, then you can batch import it to the IP phones.
