Circuit-ID configuration for PPPoE Intermediate Agent

Issue Description

PPPoE Option 105 is mechanism PPPoE Intermediate Agent. To PPPoE packets have circuit-id added.


The CID should consist of:

Circuit ID
= <Equipment_ID>#n1#n2#n3:n4.n5.n6


<Equipment_ID>
= xxIP_hex where xx=03 and IP is the IP address of the OLT

n1 - constant value „01”

n2 - id of slot
GPON board, this numer should consist of two digits: eg. „03”


n3 - id of port in GPON board. This numer should consist of two digits: eg. „03”. Value must
start from 1, if ports are numerated start 0, n3=port_id+1


n4 - ONT id. This numer should consist of three digits: eg. „003”. Value must start from 1, if
ports are numerated start 0, n4=port_id+1


n5 - constant value „01”

n6 - id of UNI port of ONT.



Solution

 

In order to configure the mechanism PPPoE Intermediate Agent, you have to enable and configure the PITP (Policy Information Transfer Protocol) that provide information to the BRAS about the access port of users. PITP binds user accounts with the access ports to prevent theft and roaming of user accounts. In order to start the CID with “03”, you can use the anid parameter and to set its value as “03”.

To add a circuit-id, you have to use the command raio-format used to configure the user-defined relay agent information option (RAIO) format. When the current RAIO working mode cannot meet the requirements, you can run this command to configure the CID/RID format more flexibly.


The procedure of configuring the PITP function is as follows:

1.     Global switch: Run the pitp(profile-mode) to enable the global PITP function:

huawei(config)#pitp enable pmode


2.     Apply the raio-mode command :

 

huawei(config)#raio-mode user-defined pitp-pmode

3.     Set the anid and anip:


huawei(config)#raio-anid 03


huawei(config)#raio-anip interface meth 0

4.     Set the raio-format


-because we can’t set the number of digits for a sum like (port+1) or (ontid+1), we have two solutions:

a) can use only port+1 without setting the digits number

b) can use only port02 and start from zero

After the configuration is successful, if the current RAIO working mode is the user-defined mode, the device reports the user port information in the user-defined format.
