CRC error appeared in U2980

Publication Date:  2018-01-26 Views:  20 Downloads:  0
Issue Description

When checking the data consistency stored in the U2980 via the output of the STR CRC command, the value of Check data statistic result between Files and Host is CRC check inconsistent, indicating a CRC error.

The Module number parameter from below specifies the module to which the error belongs:

The possible cause of a CRC error could be an incorrect board reset sequence and in this case all the boards should be reset in the correct sequence.

Solution

First of all you need to collect the information about the CRC error and then to locate the cause of the CRC error and fix it.

In orde to do this you need to perform the following operations to collect the required information.

  1. Run the STR CRC command and find the tables where the CRC error has occurred.
  2. Run the CHK DATA command and locate the table records that contain inconsistent data.
  3. Run the DSP TBL command and check the inconsistent data.
  4. Find out the time when the CRC error first occurred and run the LST OPTLOG:; command to collect the operation records of the previous day.
  5. Collect the logs of the OMU cm process.

This is how you locate the fault:

  1. Run the LST CMSTS command to check whether the formatting function and the online setting function are enabled.

    • If the value of FMT switch state is Off and the value of Send flag is On, perform the following steps:
      1. Run the SET FMT: STS=ON; command to enable the formatting function.
      2. Run the FMT command to format data.
      3. Run the SND SPD command and set Module number and Table ID. You can run the STR CRC command to obtain the values of these two parameters.
      4. Perform step 2.
    • If the value of Send flag is Off and the value of FMT switch state is On, perform the following steps:
      1. Run the LON:; command to enable the online setting function.
      2. Run the SND USD command to send the online data that fails to be sent to boards.
      3. Perform step 2.
    • If the values of Send flag and FMT switch state are Off, run the following commands:
      1. LON:;
      2. SET FMT: STS=ON;
      3. FMT:;
      4. SND USD
      5. SND SPD
      6. Perform step 2.
    • If the values of Send flag and FMT switch state are On, perform step 3.
  2. Run the STR CRC command to check data consistency.

    • If data is consistent, the fault is rectified.
    • If data is still inconsistent, perform step 3.
  3. Run the STR CRC and SND CRCERR commands for multiple times to check data consistency.

    • Finaly the data is consistent and the fault is rectified.
