"VM image does not exist" error while installing the cloudVC

Publication Date:  2018-02-12 Views:  87 Downloads:  0
Issue Description

SMC2.0 Enterprise V600R006C00 installed on a RH2288 V3 server.

Handling Process

When installing the Cloud VC on a server and in the document states that you need to upload the software through LMT as Software (auto loading):

Then it says that you need to add the VM with the following command:

1.      In the MML Command - CGP window, run the ADD VM command.

Command example:

ADD VM: VMNAME="smc_vm", DEPLOYTYPE=HOST, SERVERNAME="omu_server1", NUMANUM=0, CPUNUM=16, MEMSIZE=32768, IMGNAME1="VMCU0BMS01V600R006C00SPC400.img", VDISKSIZE2=400, APPDESC="win2012_for_smc_sc_eua", VNIC1=Port2, VNIC2=Port4, GUESTOSTYPE=Windows;

After inserting the command we have the following error that the file “VMCU0BMS01V600R006C00SPC400.img” is not found:

To check this information I have to input the following command: LST VMIMG but the image is not loaded as you can see in the below picture.

However, when I have uploaded the software package for example: VMCU0BMS01V600R006C00SPC***.tar.gz as Virtual machine image:

Inserted again the command LST VMIMG to check if the image was loaded properly:

Then added the VM successfully:

Root Cause

The file that you need to upload is an image of the SMC2.0 and vMCU and not as Software package.
