Error while mounting shared ISO in FusionCOmpute VM (Windows share)

Issue Description

Unable to mount a shared ISO image from Windows host. When mounting, the following error occurred:

Alarm Information

The host has no permission to access the ISO file

Handling Process

Check the SMB version used in Windows host. If SMB v1 is disabled, it has to be enabled.

Enable SMB v1 from power shell with administrator privileges:

Detect:
 
Get-WindowsFeature FS-SMB1
 

Enable:
 
Enable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName smb1protocol

Root Cause

FusionCompute does not support CIFS shares with SMB v2/3.

Solution

Enable SMB v1 on Windows share host.

 

Power shell command with admin rights:

 


Enable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName smb1protocol

Suggestions

The problem is present on all FusionCompute versions.
