Not able to receive video when calling Pexip IVR/Gateway

Issue Description

Scenario:

TE 30 with V500R002C00SPC500 calling Pexip Gateway/IVR for a conference. Call is succesfully connected to the IVR however after inputting the password the call gets disconnected immediately.
Handling Process

Given the fact that the call drops it was suspected the issue lies either with the network configuration or with the configuration of the TE30. 

A network capture was performed as to observer why the call was disconnecting. Upon analyzing the capture it was discovered that the call was connecting succesfully (SETUP -> Alerting -> CONNECT):



However, after the endpoint is connected to the conference the user starts inputting the password:

After the user inputs the password the PEXIP IVR should start a second Master/Slave Determination process which does not happen and the endpoint decides to close the call.


Root Cause

Due to the particularity in the media negotiation (H.245) of the Pexip Gateway/IVR, the Huawei Endpoint does not receive any Master Slave Determination message thus closing the call.

Solution

In order to prevent for the call to be ended by the endpoint, you will need to login over SSH to the endpoint using administrative credentials (debug username).

Once logged in, please type the following command:

mc OmitMSDInReTCS 1

This command will make the endpoint to ignore the fact the MSD process was not started after accesing the conference. Also, even the device will be rebooted the configuration will not be changed.

However, if the endpoint will be reset to the factory settings the system administrator needs to input the command again.
