Is possible to delete NE files batchly from U2000?

Issue Description

Customer has more than 1000 NEs for which he wants to delete some unuseful files. He wants to know if the files can be deleted in batches.

Solution

There is no possibility to delete NE files in batches from U2000. The files can be deleted only for one NE one time. Below the procedure to delete NE files.

 

Deleting an NE File

During routine maintenance, you need to delete useless and out-dated files on NEs to release storage space so that sufficient space is available on NEs to store new data.


Prerequisites
We recommended you should be a user with "NE Software Management Maintainer" authority or higher.

The NE Software Management must communicate with NEs successfully.

Context

Only the Router/Switch supports this operation.


The files in memory cards (including CF card and Flash) of both the main board and the standby board can be deleted.

When you delete a large number of NE files, the need to spend a longer time, please wait patiently.

Method 1:


1)Choose Administration> NE Software Management > NE Data Backup/Restoration (traditional style)

2)In the NE View window, right-click and choose Delete NE File from the shortcut menu. In the Check NE(s) Memory dialog box, check NE information. Enter a dialog shown below.


3)In the NE View window, right-click and choose Delete NE File from the shortcut menu. In the Check NE(s) Memory dialog box, check NE information. Enter a dialog shown below.



4)In the Deleting the files will interrupt NE services. Are you sure you want to continue? dialog box,  Yes
5)Click Yes. The Delete File(s) dialog box is displayed indicating that the files are successfully deleted.
6)Click Close. The Delete File(s) dialog box is displayed indicating that this operation is complete.



Method 2

1)  From the main menu or select Fix-Network NE Software Management in Application Center and choose NE Software Management > NE Data Backup/Restoration (application style) from the main menu
Repeat the steps 2-6 from method 1.
