【 Problem Summary 】 NE40E portal authentication, cpu usage of slot 4 is high

Problem description:

Customer deploy the web fast reply function on a NE40E equipment which is working as a LNS device to reduce the high CPU usage which is caused by arrearage redirection users accessing the equipment, but it does not take effect.

The current service-mode is NETSTREAM-1-MODE  and normal-speed-scheduler.

 

When the service mode of the board is NETSTREAM-1-MODE the web fast reply function is not supported. But the QOS-1-MODE mode can support the web fast reply function.

Root Cause

When the service mode of the LPUK board is NETSTREAM-1-MODE the web fast reply function is not supported. If you want the LPUK board to support the web fast reply function you should config the service-mode of the board to be QOS-1-MODE.

Solution

【Resolution Summary】To enable the web fast reply function, we only need to set the service mode of the board to be QOS-1-MODE, there is no need to restart the board, but it only take effect for the new online users who login in after we change the configuration. For the old users who login in before we change the configuration it will not take effect.

Execute the following command under the system view:

set service-mode slot 4 QOS-1-MODE

 

Check  and find the CPU usage is reduced.

Suggestions

Under the board service mode of NETSTREAM-1-MODE the web fast reply function is not supported, the function is supported in QOS-1-MODE mode.
