Publication Date:  2014-12-09 Views:  11 Downloads:  0
Issue Description

Q:

What is the difference between the crc {16|32} command on the interface which configure PPP protocol and the e1 e1-number set frame-format {crc4|no-crc4} command on the CPOS interface?

Involving version information:

NE40E&80E&CX600 V6R3C00SPCa00 、NE40E&80E&CX600 V6R5C00SPC900、NE40E&80E&CX600 V6R6C00SPC300

Handling Process

NA

Root Cause

No

Solution

1.The crc {16|32} command is configuring the CRC length of the FCS field on the PPP frame.This is a link layer concept.By default,the CRC length is 32 bits.

Example:

[HUAWEI -Serial1/2/0/25:0]crc 16
[HUAWEI-Serial1/2/0/25:0]display this
#
interface Serial1/2/0/25:0
link-protocol ppp
ip address 11.11.11.11 255.255.255.0
crc 16
#
return

2.The e1 e1-number set frame-format {crc4|no-crc4} command is configuring the E1 framed mode,dual-frame format mode or CRC-4 multiframe mode.This is a physical concept.By default,the frame format of an E1 channel is no-CRC4.

Configure example on the CPOS interface:

[HUAWEI-Cpos1/2/0]e1 25 set frame-format crc4
[HUAWEI-Cpos1/2/0]display this
#
controller Cpos1/2/0
e1 25 channel-set 0 timeslot-list 1-31
undo shutdown
e1 25 set frame-format crc4
#
return

Configure example on the E1 interface:

[HUAWEI-E1 1/1/0]frame-format crc4
[HUAWEI-E1 1/1/0]dis this
#
controller E1 1/1/0
channel-set 0 timeslot-list 1-31
undo shutdown
frame-format crc4
#
return
