When loading host software to NE20 through FTP/TFTP in Bootrom menu, press Ctrl+B to enter MAIN-BOOTROM MENU----> <4> Enter Ethernet SubMenu----> <3> Change Boot Parameter...
The menu has the following settings:
boot device : wancom0
processor number : 0
host name :
file name : NE20-VRP330-0330-23.bin
inet on ethernet (e) : 10.0.0.232
inet on backplane (b):
host inet (h) : 10.0.0.251
gateway inet (g) :
user (u) :
ftp password (pw) (blank = use rsh):
flags (f) : 0x80
target name (tn) :
startup script (s) :
other (o) :
In which, target name is empty.
At the same time, set the TFTP software on PC. In <NETWORK SUB-MENU>, select 2; after loading the data, the following informaiton is displayed:
7486804 Bytes Downloaded.
flash:/NE20-VRP330-0521.04.bin Already Exist.
Note: If Y is selected, loading succeeds; if N, loading fails (it is not described in detail in version upgrading guide)
Set the target name before loading the file.
1. If target name is empty (it is suggested to set to empty in upgrade guide), the equipment will save the file newly uploaded with the name of bin file in flash as the name. After the uploading of file, the system will ask if the original file in flash should be deleted. If Y is selected, the old file is replaced with the new one; if N, the uploading will fail.
2. If target name is set in advance, the equipment will use it as the name of the new file. The query will not occur after loading.
Points for attention in loading host software through FTP/TFTP in bootroom menu:
1. If necessary to overwrite the original software, target name is empty; if it asks if the original host software in flash should deleted, select Y.
2. If the orginal software is kept, and the new file is saved with another name, set the target name to that you want.
Note: The problem will not occur if loading file through FTP/TFTP during running of equipment.
