Q: MA5200F is configured with the PPPoE-Url command in the domain, and the PPPoE users under WindowsXp terminal cannot see the page for setting Portal after successful dialing-in, but users under the other dialers could, why?
A: The dialing software inbuilt with WindowsXp does not support to push Portal page when PPPoE users come online. This is because when the domain is configured with PPPoE-Url command, the PADM packets of extended protocol for PPPoE will trigger IE of users to push page, but the dialing software inbuilt with WindowsXp cannot identify the packets, so the page cannot be pushed successfully.
It is helpful to set portal-server in the domain to push the portal, so PPPoE users could see the page pushed like VLAN users after authentication. Such a method needs to open the IE browser manually, and it cannot open the Portal page automatically after passing the authentication.
Including the dialing software inbuilt with WindowsXp, other client software such as Rsapppoe do not support it. However, Ethernet series and WinPoE software supoort it.
