Q: How to configure the CBR and VBR of ATM access to MA5200G?
A: ATM access of MA5200G is defaulted to UBR operation, and the configuration for CBR, nrt-VBR and rt-VBR is as follows (take CBR as example). ATM access of MA5200G does not support ABR operation.
1. For the new ATM board:
[MA5200G]atm service qh ?
cbr Constant bit rate
nrt-vbr Non-real-time variable bit rate
rt-vbr Real-time variable bit rate
[MA5200G]atm service qh cbr 200 1000
//It is required to define the service type as gh in system view.
cbr Set CBR service parameters for VC
input Specify PVC input service
output Specify PVC output service
ubr Set UBR service parameters for VC
vbr-nrt Set VBR-NRT service parameters for VC
[MA5200G-atm-pvc-Atm6/0/0-1/5-1/5-2048]service input qh output qh
//Reference the name of the service type in the PVC view of ATM port.
2. For the old ATM board, define the specific service type by SERVICE command in PVC view of ATM port directly.
[MA5200G-atm-pvc-Atm2/0/0.1024-4/1023-4/1023-0]service cbr ?
INTEGER<100-149760> The output Peak Cell Rate (kbps)
1. It is required to follow the configurations above to configure the service type of new and old ATM boards. If you define the specific service type in PVC view of new ATM board, or reference the name of service type defined in PVC view of old ATM board, the system will prompt error.
2. How to identify the old and new ATM boards:
Use DISPLAY DEVICE command to check the type of a board. It displays SFU if it is old; it is LPUF for V2R1 version if it is new ATM, and SFUF for VRP3.30-22xx.
