Responding to Requests Slowly for the VTL Console

Issue Description
When you configure and manage the VTL3500, the VTL3500 responds slowly to these requests.

Handling Process
Step 1 Check system logs or information about the Syslog() function and view the information about
the current events.
Step 2 Check the usage rate of the system resources of the client.
Open the VTL console on a second client to connect to the VTL3500. If the VTL3500 cannot
be connected, it indicates that the VTL3500 is busy with the early RPC operations.
Step 3 If the information that the system is busy or the PRC times out is displayed, retry the operations
after the current operations are complete.
Step 4 If the problem persists, contact Huawei Symantec technical support engineers.

Root Cause

Possible Causes
 The processes of the VTL3500 are busy, which leads to high usage rate of the CPU (for
example, data compression).
 The memory of the VTL console client is abnormally used.

Check system logs or information about the Syslog() function. If the system does not execute
the progress that occupy many system resources, check the usage rate of the system resources
of the client.
