Step 1 Ensure that the updated license file does not expire.
Step 2 If the license file is modified, upload the applied license file to the VSM.
Step 3 Check whether the ESN in the license file is the same as that ESN of the VSM server. If not, apply for a new license.
Step 4 Check whether the VSM version in the license file is the same as the VSM version to be installed. If VSM version in the license file is different from the VSM version to be installed, apply for the required license file.
Step 5 Ensure that the login user of the client has rights to update license files.
You are recommended to log in as user admin.
Step 6 Ensure that only a commercial license file exists in the license directory.
Step 7 Update the license file. Choose Help > License Management > License Information from the main menu. In the dialog box that is displayed, click Update License. In the Open dialog box, select the new license file and click Open.
The to-be-updated license file is an expired temporary license file.
The license file is modified.
The ESN of the VSM server is different from the ESN in the VSM license file.
The applied license file does not match the target version.
The login user of the client does not have rights to update license files.
Temporary and commercial license files coexist in the License directory on the server.
