The PSM Service Fails to Start Because the System Disks Are Incorrectly Installed

Issue Description

Symptoms:
After you install the system disks on which the PSM is installed in the NVR and power on the NVR, the PSM fails to start. If you manually start the PSM, the following output is displayed:
An error message displayed when you attempt to manually start the PSM

Alarm Information
None.
Handling Process

Run the rm -r /etc/udev/rules.d/30-net_persistent_names.rules command.

Run the reboot command to restart the NVR.

Root Cause
Cause analysis:
1.         Run the ifconfig command to view the network port information.
If the system disks are incorrectly installed, the network adapters for service network ports are not eth0 and eth1.
The PSM service starts only when the network adapters' names are eth0 and eth1. Therefore, if the network adapters' names change, the PSM service fails to start.

Conclusion:
System disks for other NVRs are installed in this NVR, which causes the network adapters' names to change. Therefore, the PSM service fails to start.

Suggestions
Because incorrect installation of system disks can cause network adapters' names to change, when you install the device, note the following:
l           Do not exchange the locations of the two system disks in the management unit.
l           Do not exchange the locations of system disks among basic units.
