How to change the ip address of single-server system (windows 2003) in VSM?

Issue Description
When network planning was changed, how to change the ip address of the server?
Notice:
The data which has been backed up before could not be recovered after changing the ip address or host name. Please back up again.
If you changed the ip address and host name at the same time, network management system would fail to startup. Please change them separately.
The steps are as follows:
1. Shut down network management server and client, and make sure the database is on.
2. Shut down the background service of network management system maintenance tool.
3. Change the ip address of the server.
4. Start up the background service of network management system maintenance tool.
5. Logon the client of network management system maintenance tool, and synchronize the network configuration.
6. Restart the operating system

Handling Process
1. Shut down network management server and client.
In the directory of network management software, e.g. D:\vsm\server\bin, double click “stopnms.bat” to stop the network management process. And make sure the database is on.

2. Shut down the background service of network management system maintenance tool.
In the directory “C:\HWENGR\engineering”, double click “stopserver.bat” to stop the background service of network management system maintenance tool

3. In the classical start menu, Start > Setting> network connection.

4. In network connection, right click the network connection you want to configure, and left click “property”.

5. In the tab “general”, left click “Internet protocol (TCP/IP)”, and left click “property”.

6. In the Internet protocol (TCP/IP), enter new ip address, mask and gateway. And left click ok.

7. Start up the background service of network management system maintenance tool.
In the directory “C:\HWENGR\engineering”, double click “startserver.bat”.

8. Logon the client of network management system maintenance tool. Set the parameter of logon.
a. Start > all program> network management system> VSM network management system maintenance tool. A dialog box about user logon is pop up in 1 minute.
b. Set parameters.
Ip address: The server’s ip address of network management system maintenance tool.
Port: Default port is 12212. It’s no need to change when you logon.
Username and passport: Default username is admin, and default passport is admin.

9. In the tag “server”. Right click to choose the server which need to synchronize, and left click synchronize network configuration. And click ok.

10. Restart operating system.
