Eth-Trunk can’t interconnect

Handling Process
The number of the UP member’s link is less than the lower limit threshold value.
In a Trunk interface, the number of the member link which is in UP state affects the state and bandwidth of the Trunk interface, when the number of the UP member’s link is less than the lower limit threshold value, the Trunk interface state will turn to DOWN.
Executive “display trunkmembership eth-trunk trunk-id” command, view the number of the member which is UP under Eth-Trunk.
For example:

The overstriking part of output information means the two member ports in Eth-Trunk are in UP state.
Execute “display current-configuration interface Eth-Trunk” to view the lower limit threshold value which is configured under Eth-Trunk interface.

The overstriking part of output information means the lower limit of threshold value of the link in Eth-Trunk which is in UP status.
Compared with them, if the current UP member number is less than the minimum, reduce lower limit of threshold value.


Both sides joined Eth-Trunk interface number is not consistent.
Eth-Trunk needs symmetrical networking, execute “display trunkmembership eth-trunk trunk-id” command respectively on both sides of the equipment to view the number of the member on both sides which is in UP state.
Compare the number of the UP member is consistent or not.
When both sides of the Ethernet interfaces connected directly, the state of both sides is UP or DOWN at the same time. Check whether has forgot to add some Ethernet interface in Eth-Trunk interface.

Root Cause
The first reason: the Ethernet interfaces of USG5300’s both sides are not through the network cable connected directly.
The second reason: the physical layer state of the Eth-Trunk’s both sides is DOWN.
The third reason: the number of the UP member’s link is less than the lower limit threshold value.
The fourth reason: both sides joined Eth-Trunk interface number is not consistent.
Suggestions
When configure eth-trunk, need to carefully check on the channel members.
