Fan Noise Increasing Due to High Temperature of Disks

Issue Description
Product and version information:

  •  S5000
  •  Application server running Windows 2003.
After a faulty disk of the storage device is replaced, data on the hot spare disk cannot be copied back, and the fan noise increases sharply. Check the new disk. Its temperature reaches 119ºC.
Alarm Information
On the ISM, choose Event > Event Management. On the Fault List tab page, an alarm is generated indicating that the disk temperature is high.
Handling Process
Replace the disk.

NOTE:
The replacement disk must be the same type as the member disks of the degraded RAID group, and its capacity must be larger than the smallest member disk.

Root Cause
Remove the new disk. The fan noise decreases.
