1. The shared server IP address can be pinged on the VM running Windows 7.
− Check results of the shared server and clients are as follows:
− Port 445 of the shared server is enabled.
− The firewall of the shared server is disabled.
− The firewall of the client accessing shared services is disabled.
− Other clients in the same network segment can properly access the shared server.
The problem is probably caused by the VM.
2. No third-party plug-in is detected on the NIC of the VM.
3. A 6to4 NIC adapter is displayed in the NIC list in the Device Manager window of the VM. After the adapter is disabled on the VM and the VM is restarted, the shared server can be properly accessed.
