Issue Description
Networking:
SoftCo5816 -- PRA -- Optical transceiver -- Carrier

An exception occurs when the SoftCo5816 is connected to a carrier's trunk that is led out from an optical transceiver: The LOS indicator is off and the RFA indicator is on.
Handling Process
Step 1 Check the SoftCo5816 configuration. It is found that the SoftCo5816 configuration is correct.

Step 2 Check whether the status of the CRC function on the SoftCo5816 is the same as that on the peer device. If the CRC function is disabled on the SoftCo5816, enable the function. If the CRC function is enabled on the SoftCo5816, disable the function and check whether the RFA indicator is off. It is found that the RFA indicator is off. Run the show card type dtu command to query the value of startCIC.

To enable the CRC function on the SoftCo5816, run the config modify card slot <1-4> type dtu trunkport <0-3> officeno <0-254> crc4flag yes command.
To disable the CRC function on the SoftCo5816, run the config modify card slot <1-4> type dtu trunkport <0-3> officeno <0-254> crc4flag no command.

Step 3 Disable the CRC function on the SoftCo5816. It is found that the RFA indicator is off and that the service is normal. The problem is solved.

Root Cause
The possible causes are as follows:
  • The PRI trunk configuration on the SoftCo5816 is incorrect.
  • The values of connection parameters of the SoftCo5816 and the peer device are inconsistent.
