Abnormal Statistics About Online STAs on the Entire WLAN on eSight When the WLAN Function of the S7700 Is Used

Issue Description
The AC function is configured on the X1E card of the S7700, the ssh client first time enable command has been executed on the S7700, and eSight uses WLAN Manager to manage the WLAN function of the S7700.

When eSight collects statistics about online STAs on the entire WLAN of the S7700, the statistics displayed are abnormal. In certain time segments, the number of online STAs decreases sharply. However, online STAs on the network have not gone offline, and the number of STAs connected to the S7700 is stable.
Handling Process
After the AP data caching function is enabled on the AC for a while, the number of online STAs on the entire WLAN is stable on eSight.
Root Cause
transfer performance data files to eSight. When the AP data caching function is enabled, APs can send performance data to the AC. For the AC of V200R005 and earlier versions or the switch of V200R006 and earlier versions, APs do not proactively send performance data to the AC if the AP data caching function is disabled. As a result, performance data collected is abnormal.
Solution
To solve the issue, run the ap-collect-time enable command on the switch to enable the AP data caching function.
Suggestions
The WLAN performance statistics collection function will be optimized for WLAN devices of V200R005C10 and switches of V200R007. The APs of V200R005C10 will send performance data to the AC through heartbeat packets. eSight and the AC use FTP to collect performance statistics, and APs can proactively send performance data to the AC without having the AP data caching function enabled.

The WLAN performance statistics collection on eSight differs as follows:

 eSight of V200R003C01 and V200R003C10 collects performance statistics using the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP). You are advised to enable the AP data caching function; otherwise, performance statistics collected are abnormal when there is a large amount of AP data.

 For eSight of V200R005C00 and WLAN devices of V200R003, eSight and WLAN devices collect performance statistics using SNMP. You are advised to enable the AP data caching function; otherwise, performance statistics collected are abnormal when there is a large amount of AP data.

 For eSight V200R005C00, AC of V200R005C00, and S series switches of V200R006 and earlier versions, they collect data using FTP, and the AP data caching function must be enabled; otherwise, no performance data is collected.

 For eSight of V200R005C00, AC of V200R005C10, AP of V200R005C10, and S series switches of V002R007, they collect performance data using FTP, and the AP data caching function does not need to be enabled.
