Issue Description
What is the numbering convention of disk slots in the controller enclosure and disk enclosure?

Solution
In the S5000 storage system, slots in a controller enclosure or disk enclosure are sequenced from left to right and from top to bottom. The 24 slots are numbered from 0 to 23. The ID of the uppermost and leftmost slot in the enclosure is 0.

In the S2600 storage system, slots in a controller enclosure or disk enclosure are sequenced from left to right and from top to bottom. The 12 slots are numbered from 0 to 11. The ID of the uppermost and leftmost slot in the enclosure is 0.

The T series storage device supports both 2U and 4U disk encloures:
  • For the 2U 24-disk enclosure, the location IDs of disks are numbered from left to right. The 24 slots are numbered from 0 to 23.
  • For the 2U 12-disk enclosure, the location IDs of disks are numbered from left to right. The 12 slots are numbered from 0 to 11.
  • For the 4U disk enclosure, the location IDs of disks are numbered from left to right and then from top to bottom. The 24 slots are numbered from 0 to 23.
