FAQ-What is DAS

Publication Date:  2015-07-23 Views:  391 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
What is DAS?

Solution
The Direct Attached Storage (DAS) is a data storage technology that connects storage devices directly to a computer through SCSI interfaces, fibre channels, or SAS interfaces, and realizes the storage, access, and management of data and files.

A DAS system is a comparatively traditional and common external storage attachment mode, and it is of easy planning, simple implementation, and low cost. The deficiency of the DAS system is its lack of independent operating system and its inability to share files across platforms. Each DAS system is isolated; therefore, data is distributively managed and of low share capability.
