Issue Description

Hello,

If you are using the NGFW, I can bet that you are already familiar with its awesome web interface. Here you can check almost all kind of logs and threats. One my preferred features is the Traffic map which displays global traffic distribution with details, such as traffic rank, volume, direction, source IP address, and destination IP address.

The Traffic Map can be found in the Monitor page and here you can see how the traffic comes / goes from our firewall and which are the its source/destinations.
One of the most common and obvious problems that you can come across here is that the location of our firewall is not displayed in the appropriate place on the Map.
For instance, in my Traffic Map, the firewall seems to be somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean, instead of being here in my Data Center.

This problem appears because the location displayed on the map is the region of the IP address of the public interface firstly brought up which usually is the management interface . On the Management interface is usually configured a private IP address which doesn’t belong to a specific region.

Solution

This problem appears because the location displayed on the map is the region of the IP address of the public interface firstly brought up which usually is the management interface . On the Management interface is usually configured a private IP address which doesn’t belong to a specific region.
To solve this problem we have to do the follow the next steps to add the IP address used on the management interface in the region where the firewall is located:

• Enter the Object > Region > Region : search for the region we are interested in and add the IP address used on the management

Result: The firewall will be displayed in the correct region

Hope this would be of help to you:) Have a nice day!
