Incorrect Time Display in a CDR File After DST Transition

Publication Date:  2015-10-31 Views:  715 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
After the DST is switched in a site, the time zone of the CTI server is changed, but the time in the CDR file is displayed incorrectly.
Handling Process
Step 1 Log in to the UIDB database as an icd user.

Step 2 Check whether the time zone is correct.

select * from t_dbtimezone

Step 3 If the time zone is incorrect, run the following commands:

delete from t_dbtimezone;
insert into t_dbtimezone (dbtzone, description) values ('+08:00', 'UIDB timezone
offset format: +hh24:mm');
commit;

Here, +08:00 indicates the time zone. Use the actual time zone and make sure that 0 cannot be omitted.

For details about the configuration, see Commissioning Guide > Verifying the Report Service > Verifying the Voice Report Service > Prerequisites > CTI configuration table in the eSpace CC Product Documentation.

Step 4 If the business intelligent report (BIR) service is used on the live network, change the VDN time zone for daily reports. For details about the configuration, see Commissioning Guide > Verifying the Report Service > Verifying the Voice Report Service > Configuring the VDN Time Zone in the eSpace CC Product Documentation.

Root Cause
CDR files on the CTI server use the Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). When the DST is used, users must manually modify the t_dbtimezone table in the UIDB database. The time in CDR files automatically adjusts according to the time zone specified by t_dbtimezone. When the UTC is used, users must manually modify the t_dbtimezone table again.
