The customer installed ISM on a client and installed the latest Java version 1.8 on his storage S2200T - V100R005 but he is not able to discover the device on the ISM. In below we have a picture about that .
This is a JAVA issue, it's a known issue about the java compatibility.
I will provide some explination in below, we have to ways to access ISM for V100R005 for T series:
1. If you want to access ISM via web – you have to put the management IP in the web browser and no need to install the ISM application in your laptop– but you have to use java version 1.7 or 1.6. Will not work with java version 1.8.
If you have other version of java beside this two versions 1.6 or 1.7, you need to uninstall the current java and install the correspondingly java (1.6 or 1.7).
Bellow you will find the link from where you can download the java.
2. If you can not uninstall the java version 1.8. you have to install the ISM directly on your laptop, you will have a shortcut on your desktop created by the application ( in this situation no need to put the management IP in the address bar from your browser) when you will install the ISM on your laptop.
In below link you can find the ISM application that you have to install directly on your laptop ( I provided you this link in my previous email) , in these conditions doesn’t matter what kind of java you are using.

Just download the ISM kitt and install it on your laptop and the device will be discovered imediately; doesn’t matter what kind of java you are using on your laptop.
