Issue Description
Q: How to use the functionality of call-log newly added to MA5200G?

Alarm Information

Handling Process

Root Cause
A: Functions: it is used to output the log (only records of online and offline of users’) of users’ access to network to a specific server, following syslog protocol.

Configuration method (The part in red is required):

1. Enter call-log view first

2. Configure a group:

[MA5200G-call-log]group test

3. Turn on the switch of call-log for the slot needing to record

[MA5200G-call-log]enable slot 2

The main function of the configuration: the switch of call-log for all slots is defaulted to shut-down, which aims to avoid each slot of 5200G sends its own records to host, so it needs to turn them on. Once the switches for relevant slots are enabled, the slots will transmit their records to the host according to the policy configured next.

4. Configure the policy

5200G will send the relevant logs that match the policy configured to log server.

[MA5200G-call-log]policy 1 enable slot 2---where, “1” is only a sequence number of a policy, and “enable slot 2” is required, which aims to make slot 2 output its logs;

The following policies are configured on actual demand; if they are not configured, the information on all users under slot 2 will be output:

[MA5200G-call-log]policy 1 isp huawei----only the logs of users in Huawei domain under slot 2 are recorded;

[MA5200G-call-log]policy 1 usertype ----only the log information on users under slot 2 that match the following policy are recorded;

  dot1x    802.1X user

  dynamic  L2 dynamic user

  l2tp     L2TP user

  l3       L3 user

  others   Other user

  portal   Web authentication user

  ppp      PPPoe,PPPoa , PPPoeoa

  static   L2 static user

  telnet   Telnet user

  wlan     Wlan user

5. Bind the policy configured to the group configured in step 2:

[MA5200G-call-log]policy 1 group test----thus, the group represents the policy, and we could put multiple policies that has been configured to the group. The group is similar to a container, which contains multiple policies. In the above configuration, the container is bound to the relevant server, so the user logs that match the policies in it will be output to the corresponding server accordingly.

6. Configure the log server:

[MA5200G-call-log]server group test---As a result, the user logs that match the policies in the container (test group) will be output to the corresponding server accordingly and completely.
