There is a requirement to establish a remote access environment through dial up connection to allow R&D to access network in case of any emergency to provide support quickly. The dial up environment was unsuccessful becasue of improper ACL configuration and IP subnetting.
Following steps were taken to solve the problem :-
1) When we modify the range to /29 (more client terminals can be accomodated) the problem is solved.
2) Then we add an ACL for client IPs to allow the client to telnet the network routers.
[NE80]rule-map intervlan remoteaccess tcp x.x.x.x 0 any equal telnet
[NE80]eacl global remoteaccess permit
After these configurations, the problem is solved we can successfully login to client network through dial-up connection.
Check attachment for the detailed topology description.
There were two problems in establishment of remote access environment :-
1) making an incoming dial-up connection on a PC with Modem we have to specify the IP address renge for client. Initialy the range was /30 subnet and the connection was not successful.
2) After client can get the IP still we can not telnet the router becasue of ACL is blocking the client.
