Issue Description
After you enter the IP address, user name, and password of the VTL Server on the VTL console, you cannot log in to the VTL server.
Alarm Information
None
Handling Process
Step 1  If the VTL server IP address is changed, delete the server and add it again on the console. If you have entered the server name before, you only need to enter the server IP address.
Step 2  If the VTL server IP address is not changed, run the ping command to communicate with the VTL server. If no response is received, ping with other device on the same subnet. If still no response is received, the network is disconnected. Run the network commands or tools to show the network status. If the network connection is abnormal, consult the network administrator for help.
Step 3  Check the user name and password. You can attempt to log in to the VTL server by entering any created passwords, administrator name, or read-only user name. Determine whether the user name and password exist by using the local session. The password is case sensitive. Ensure that you do not press Caps Lock.
Step 4  On the VTL server, run the vtl status command to check whether VTL software modules are in the RUNNING state. If some modules are in the STOPPED state, run the vtl start all or vtl restart command to restart all VTL modules.
Root Cause
1. The VTL server IP address is changed.
2. The network is disconnected.
3. The user name or password is incorrectly entered or the user name does not exist.
4. The service is abnormally started.
