FAQ-How to calculate the specific discharge time of the UPS

Publication Date:  2014-10-30 Views:  422 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
 How to calculate the specific discharge time of the UPS?
Solution
Battery discharge time is related to discharge current, the ambient temperature, the type of load, the discharge rate of the battery capacity and many other factors, so there is no formula to calculate specific discharge time of UPS directly.

Here provide a formula to calculate maximum discharge current:
I=(P*cosφ)/(η*Ei).

Where, P is the rated output power of UPS, cosφ is the power factor of the load. Normally, the power factor for PC is 0.6 and for server is 0.7. η is the efficiency of the inverter. Its value is about 0.8(the efficiency of Huawei UPS5000 is up to 96%). Ei is the voltage of EOD(end-of-discharge), generally refers to the voltage of the battery package.
